“Introduction to ETF’s & the Evolution of Smart Beta

 Speaker:  Jay Jones, Regional Director – Institutions and RIA’s, Invesco PowerShares

ETF’s have been one of the fastest growing investment vehicles in recent history with US assets now over $3.2 trillion (September 2017).  In this presentation, we will cover the nuts and bolts of ETF’s including the benefits of the investment structure, how to efficiently trade ETF’s, how their tax managed design works and also discuss smart beta ETF’s and how to utilize them in your portfolio.

 

Jay Jones is a Regional Director, Institutions and RIA Channel for Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC, a registered investment adviser that represents the PowerShares family of exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

 In his current role, Jay works with discretionary Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), Institutional Clients (endowments, foundations, consultants), Bank & Trust Departments and Family Offices across the Central US. His primary responsibilities include providing consultative ideas and strategies designed to efficiently implement ETFs into portfolio models and allocations and to help support ongoing education, due diligence and oversight in the ETF marketplace.

 Jay joined PowerShares in 2010, where he worked as a portfolio consultant covering Florida. From 2012 to 2014, he served in a key accounts role working with homes offices across an array of channels including wirehouses and broker/dealers. In 2015, Jay headed the PowerShares Bank and Trust team, where he worked with analysts, due diligence groups and portfolio managers at bank and trust wealth management teams throughout the entire United States. Prior to working with PowerShares, Jay worked at J.P. Morgan Chase in Chicago.

 Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Real Estate from The Kelly School of Business at Indiana University and studied international business at the University of Sydney, Australia. He holds the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 registrations.
